IT Consultant / Medical Storage Room Organizer

I provided home IT support to patients. Medically authorized video call services were installed onto patient's computers. Additional IT support was given on an as needed basis for any other technological issues. This allowed patients to connect to their physician via telehealth during the COVID-19 crisis. A brief education on how to access and operate the telehealth services was also given to patients during their designated appointment time.

      Aug 2022 - May 2024
      Undergraduate Research Assistant

This research with Dr. Pittman aims to analyze paraspeckle function and its relationship with RAD51D using the yeast II hybrid system. Through my experiences, I have learned to pour LB+amp plates, streak plates for single colonies, complete minipreps to get DNA, use Nanodrop to determine DNA concentrations, and perform gel electrophoresis, gel extraction, transformations, and ligations. I have also successfully designed primers for use in Polymerase Chain Reactions.

    • Lucas Research

      May 2023 - Jul 2023
Research Associate | Clinical Research Support

Lucas Research is a Clinical Research office specialized in endocrinology and diabetes. As a Research Associate, I greet patients and guide them to their rooms, take patient's vitals, record their medicinal history and other important information for their providers, and perform various procedures. These procedures include taking A1C, blood glucose levels, and lipids, along with performing urinalysis, transient elastographies (fibroscans) of the liver, and blood draws. This data collection was combined with chart screenings to determine if patients matched inclusion or exclusion criteria for trials that may provide them benefit. As a Clinical Research Support, I help prepare study folders and boxes for use by the Clinical Research Coordinators, and I shadowed other CRS' while they answer queries from Data Managers and Clinical Research Associates about incoherencies in the information within the study portals. While interning at Lucas Research, I have also shadowed two PA Endocrinologists, an Internal Medicine Doctor, and a Family Medicine Doctor. Show less
