Terre Des Homes (Switzerland) has Vocational Training Center, Ericulture Section, Clinic, School, Children home for the malnourished children and also for the orphans and children of families from the poorest of the poor. To make the families self-reliant Terre Des Homes forms groups, conducts adult literacy program, runs feeding centers for children during natural disasters.       I worked as Program Leader, HESS (Health Education and Social Services), with MCC (Mennonite Central Committee), an International Private Voluntary Development Organization (IPVDO), in its Dhaka Office, from January 08, 1989 to January 11, 1995. I was responsible for Planning (annual planning and budgeting, conceiving planning and designing appropriate program components like disaster preparedness, IGA, environmental balance through re-excavation of derelict ponds for fishery, survival ground raising, afforestation through partner NGOs which could be taken up for implementation, proposed staffing level, developed program polices), Organizing - Prepared program structure, developed and maintained job description of all HESS employees, Leading - identified staff requirements, arranged recruitment, orientation, assured effectiveness of programs, development of the program staff and Monitoring, Controlling, Supervising, Reporting, Maintained Liaison with GO/NGO officials.I worked as the Acting Program Administrator from 7-21 August ’93. I took active part in the rescue and relief operations after the most severe and devastated cyclone of 1991 in the coastal areas of Chittagong and Cox’sbazar in which about 500,000 people were killed. I also took part in the relief operations for Rohinga refugees in Cox’sbazar. I took active part and raised fund to help the flood victims of the southwestern part of Bangladesh in October 2000 when an unprecedented flood victimized five districts including Jessore and Satkhira districts.       I worked as the Program Manager of PLAN International in its Dhaka Field Office (URBAN Program) from January 15, 1995 to July 31, 1998. PLAN International is an International Child Sponsorship organization with a focus of working in participatory community development. I was responsible to lead a Program Team of 9 Program Officers who assisted me to manage the overall activities of the project, which has about 29 staff. I worked with the team for Planning, Identifying local resources, Program Budgeting, Identifying training needs of staff and community, Liaison with other agencies (GO & NGO), ensure strict deadlines for Donor Service (sponsorship communication), Monitoring and Supervising Project implementation Program activities), Assisting the Project Director in all the aspects including communication with the partner organizations. PLAN International is working with several partner organizations to ensure quality services with special focus on children, adolescents and program implementation to improve the Socio-economic condition of the people for their sustainable development. I had to liaison and monitor the activities of the partner organizations. I had to work with 6 partner organizations.I was In-charge of the Field Office on several occasions, from July 18-August 17, 1996, October 6-12, 1996, June 22-July 27, 1997, June 07-27, 1998 while the Field Director was on leave. It was a regular practice that I was authorized to be the In-charge of the Field Office twice or thrice a year during the abroad tour or leave of the Field/Project Director. Show less

      I worked as the Project Director for the Capacity Building for Sustainable Reproductive Health Care Project (CBSRHC) of the Family Planning Association of Bangladesh (FPAB) in Jessore District, from August 02, 1998toMay 31, 2003. It was a project in partnership with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). I was solely responsible for the overall administrative and financial management of the project which included: i) implement the project as per Project Proposal and ensure the 21 different modules including the ESP components are regularly reviewed and updated, Edit and finalize all the Modules for the Community Health Promoters (CHPs), Family Welfare Assistants (FWAs) and the Health Assistants (HAs), of whom the last two groups were GOB workers. ii) ensure financial and administrative management of the project at all levels, with regular timely reporting, iii) liaison and coordinate with the partner, mother organization and other concerned GO/NGO officials; iv) ensure personnel management for promotion, demotion and any other disciplinary measures; v) preparation of project report (monthly financial report and quarterly program and financial reports) for the partner and mother organization. I had a team of 450 staff working for the project. The project moved to its second phase for three more years with my initiatives of arranging fund from the donor, from April 2001 after the successful completion of the first phase. We used to impart training programs for the FWA, HA and CHPs on 21 Modules on health and other issues including ESP/beyond ESP components.       I worked as the Project Director of the Strengthening Good Governance through Human Rights (SGGHR) project of the Bangladesh Society for the Enforcement of Human Rights-BSEHR from April 01, 2004 to June 30, 2006. As the Project Director, I had the overall responsibility to ensure effective implementation of the project activities in 30 Thanas of six districts where the organization was supporting women and children in Legal sector (to protect from violence against women and children and thus ensure their rights) and working in cooperation with the Law enforcing authorities. My job also included ensuring regular monitoring of the project activities, ensure regular meeting with the law enforcing authorities including the Thana and project staff, ensure the regular publication of the monthly newsletter, personnel management, liaison with GO/NGO representatives and donor, timely report preparation for the donor, regular supervision of the activities of the Assistant Coordinators who were the chiefs of the project offices in the districts, provided decisions during emergencies for giving legal aid and conduct investigation on the cases for the smooth implementation of the total activities and overall management of the project. The project ‘Strengthening Good Governance through Human Rights-SGGHR’ was being supported by ‘Manusher Jonno’ and had more than 100 regular staff including a significant number of lawyers.       I worked as the Project Manager for Handicap International, an INGO working for the development of the disabled persons to bring them in the mainstream. It also works as a donor organization to support good innovative programs of the partners to make them successful. I worked for the PRM project of the organization where HI was working to support the people with disability-PWD in the Rohinga Refugee camps in Teknaf and Ukhiya Thanas under Cox’sbazar district. I worked with this project from October 01, 2007toJune 30, 2008.As the Project Manager of the organization and as the head of several projects in the south (of which one was funded by ECHO), I had to manage the overall program management, financial management, monitoring the activities of the partner organizations working in the Rohinga Refugee camps alongside Handicap International. My work also included: developing and designing monitoring & evaluation plans to ensure qualitative and quantitative data to measure the progress of the project activities, establishing linkages and maintain liaison with all the relevant UN/GO/NGO officials, policy makers, donor officials and so on. Facilitating training programs, providing support for capacity building of the project staff and partner NGOs in the design, management, and implementation of the program with periodic reports are also part of my responsibilities. My work also included: assist the partner in developing adequate monitoring and impact- reporting skills, assist in enhancing DCA and ECHO visibility at national and community level in accordance with the visibility guidelines and support DCA in visibility plan for the project in Denmark, support partner in ensuring proper procurement policy, developing interim and final narrative and financial reports in accordance with ECHO requirements and coordinate input from DCA to finalize them for submission through Copenhagen, endure that a high level of communication is maintained with the DCA Delhi as well as Global funding Unit personnel in HQ, Liaise with ECHO field representative in close cooperation with the DCA Bangladesh Funding Officer and the DCA Regional Relief Officer, Delhi. I also had to work closely with the Project Coordinator of the implementing partner, provide support and advice to ensure proper implementation of the project according to DCA and ECHO standards, frequent visits to the field operations in cooperation with the partner Project Coordinator, monitor correct and timely implementation of the project as well as the management of the budget and finances of the project together with the partner management team, I had to represent my organization in different UN and other GO/NGO forums. I completed six projects in Barguna Sadar, Patharghata, Bamna and Sharankhola after the SIDR, Tala and Keshobpur after the water logging and in the AILA affected Dakop since the AILA hit the area on May 25, 2009.       I worked as the Project Coordinator for Concern Worldwide, an international humanitarian organization “committed to a world without poverty” since 1968 in more than 25 very poor and disaster prone countries of the world including Bangladesh. It also works as a donor organization to support good innovative programs of the partners to make them successful. I worked for CWW from August 16, 2011 to August 29, 2013. As the Project Coordinator of the organization, I had to manage the overall program management, monitoring the activities of the partner organization working in the disaster affected areas for their livelihood, food security, WASH, climate change, disaster risk reduction programs and fight against hunger with special focus on PWDs, old aged people, children, women and the adolescents. A major part of my work besides responding to the disasters was to build the capacity of the partner NGOs through conducting Preparedness for Effective Emergency Response-PEER training (more than 35 throughout the country) so that we could respond to any disasters within 24 hours through our partners.
