Selected by Commander, Atlantic Fleet (4 star Admiral) to solve long-range deployment problems; initiatives saved millions of dollars while improving quality of life for the Navy’s Atlantic Fleet sailors. Member of Atlantic Fleet Quality Management Board. Adviced USACOM Commander (4 Star Admiral) during the planning and (partial) execution of the invasion of Haiti (1984)• Directed scheduling for the Atlantic Fleet Amphibious Force, including maintenance, deployments, inspections, and training. • Developed initiatives that changed the way the U.S. Navy trained and deployed the Naval Fleets.• Managed global satellite display station network; used IT expertise in developing extensive environmental prediction computer models.       • Responsible for break/fix repair of the largest information technology (IT) network in the history of the federal government – the Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI). This vast network delivers comprehensive, end-to-end information services enterprise-wide to the United States Navy and United States Marine Corps through a common computing and communications environment. This environment enhances system and software interoperability and enhances information exchange capability for garrisoned and deployed forces as well as individual users. NMCI provides secure and higher quality voice, video and data services at a lower cost than the DoN was paying.• Responsible for transitioning Navy and Marine Corps Remote sites (in the SW Region) to the Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI). This is the largest single network in the world. The transition is from the customer’s legacy network environment to the NMCI environment. Area of responsibility included 200+ remotes sites located within the SW Region of the United States (AR, LA, TX, NM, AZ, CA, and NV). Show less
