  As an extension from my graduation project, I completed this short internship on forestry carbon modeling and basic timber supply analysis. I updated forest inventory database and conducted forest carbon offset research. I also facilitated some entry-level forestry field work including cut block layout; forest inset inspection etc.

  As a photo interpreter at ABMI, I conducted soft-copy based vegetation mapping and land use inventory over high resolution aerial photos for biodiversity monitoring projects in Alberta. My duties included: vegetation and ecosystem classification; land use classification; spatial data management and analysis in ArcGIS;Quality Assurance.

  As a M.Sc. student, I am interested in exploring how remote sensing technologies provide with leverage for biodiversity monitoring at different scales. Specifically, I am currently working on two projects: Using provincial coverage of LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) data set clustering forest vertical and horizontal structure for biodiversity monitoring purpose; Using time-series Landsat data quantifying spatial-temporal changes in marsh birds species dynamics and habitat suitability.

  - Prepare geospatial and tabular dataset in ArcGIS and SQL database environment for resource modelling- Conduct Timber Supply Analysis and Strategic Modelling using Remsoft Woodstock and SQL server- Support operational planning and research with remote sensing data products - Managed field work to gather timber cruising information for lidar modelling- Processed drone image data and lidar point cloud data to produce inventory products- Build statistical models between lidar metrics and measured timber attributes- Established lidar Area-based Enhanced Forest Inventory for year 2018 with Mosaic lidar dataset
