After making an impact in my time at Advent Communications with Coventry City as a client, I was brought in house to become a permanent member of the media team.As part of an extremely busy two-man team, my aim was to take a lead of the club's day-to-day content across social media and website, matchday programme, as well as leading on player media requirements, which included media training some current top-flight players.

    • AFC Bournemouth

      Jan 2016 - now

Following a successful three years at AFC Bournemouth, I was promoted to the role of communications and content manager. That role saw me take charge of the club's digital content channels, most notably the club's social media channels and the club website, as well as managing a team of six content creators. The aim for myself and team is to ensure that the club has a creative online persona, with one of the fastest growing social audiences in the Championship - and previously the Premier League.Me and the team have found new, exciting and innovative ways of connecting with the club's fans, while also building the club's online reputation, thanks to our digital content strategy.Another big part of the job is managing club communications requirements for Premier League, EFL and club stakeholders by forming relationships with the playing staff and organising their press and content schedules. Show less During the recruitment process for a new head of department, I was trusted with the role for four months to not only continue to lead the content team at the club, but also lead the communications side of the club.During the four months, the club went through a major transitional period with the introduction of Scott Parker as head coach, as well as a busy transfer window. One of my main responsibilities was to liaise with local and national media to tell the club's story through Scott and the players, as well as ensuring we deliver all contractual media requirements. On top of this, I also provided PR and communications advice using communications and content strategies to top-level club employees.Managing matchdays is also a crucial part of the role and I ensured that the external press had a positive experience dealing with the communications department on matchdays. Show less After moving to the south coast, I was responsible for driving and developing the club's day-to-day output, including the club's social channels and the website, trying to make one of the smaller clubs in the Premier League standout in a crowded digital market. One of those ideas was leading on the Minus 17 project, a documentary and premiere evening to celebrate the ten year anniversary of AFC Bournemouth's 'greatest escape' in 2008/09.Other responsibilities included assisting with the launch of the club's new website following the expiration of the previous FLI deal, leading the club's launch of it's first-ever annual and editing the club's award-winning matchday programme in 2016/17.
