  As a doctoral researcher I am carrying out basic research at the soft matter research group at the University of Gothenburg. My research field concerns the study of novel nanorobotics using optical manipulation techniques for the development of intelligent drugs or as remediation technology for water and soil.I am also actively engaged as member of the management board of the Association of Graduate Students in Physics at the departmental and faculty level at the University of Gothenburg. Show less As a long member of the FFF as an organization of graduate students in physics I have greatly shaped the way we have brought together students from different universities and groups. Towards this purpose I have headed the main communication between the board and the students and was responsible for the organisation of career seminars where we invited professionals to present their path. I found and connected with several outstanding persons that have left a lasting impression on our students and inspired to go beyond the academic path. Show less

  I have founded together with other researchers at the University of Gothenburg a spin-off from our research on the optical manipulation of single cells. In cooperation with the Chalmers School of Entrepreneurship we are working on an all in-one solution for automated single cell studies aimed at R&D departments of companies and research labs.I am deeply involved in the business administration of our startup and coordinate between researchers, business developers and funding agencies as the chairman of the board of directors. Together we have already acquired initial funding to start beta-prototype development. Show less

  As sustainability manager at the Nanophotonics Systems Laboratory I coordinate our efforts to create more sustainable lab practices. We are actively involved in the LEAF certification process. This involves evaluating current practices for their cost and CO2 impacts as well as introducing new measures to reduce our footprint. This fellowship supports my efforts to create a new three dimensional optofluidic platform based on the local heating via light. We expect to develop new dynamic tools to manipulate fluid flows on the microscale.
