      I worked as a General operative on the Whitegate I.P.P. station in Co. Cork, my main duties included maintaining the site by removing rubbish, I helped welders and pipe fitters with their tasks, worked closely with apprentice industrial plumbers, worked in the stores assigning consumables to welders for on site welding, made it a priority to keep on top of all jobs given to me.

      I had a two week placement with Shanahan engineering on the 4800MW power station in South Africa, I worked in the site office as part of a team and attended senior staff meetings, I helped issue structural steel information packets to steel erection managers and teams.

      Mechanical Engineer in Mott MacDonald Belfast. My main duties include producing design deliverables for clients, mechanical design, writing reports, producing specification documents, attending client meetings, thermal modelling, utilising engineering software as design tools especially Revit. I am very proficient in the use of Revit and AutoCAD and am leading the implementation of effective use of BIM within the Belfast office of Mott MacDonald. I am also skilled in the use of AutoCAD, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and IES VE. I am also involved in the commercial and project management of a number of projects in the Belfast office. Following the completion of my Masters I began working on a full time basis within the Belfast office. My main duties include working with design teams, producing design drawings, report and specification writing, communicating with clients, attending site meetings, thermal modelling, design utilising various software packages including REVIT, AutoCAD and IES, project management and working with product suppliers. I found my fifteen month placement with Motts both rewarding and very beneficial for the following years of university. Following the end of my placement year I returned to full time education working towards my Masters. between the summer of my fourth and fifth year I returned to Mott MacDonald as a summer intern. I began working on a part-time basis during my final year and was offered a place on their graduate scheme following the successful completion of my Masters. My duties included, but were not limited to, meeting clients, mechanical design, attending design team meetings, detailing designs using AutoCAD, completing mechanical service designs using Revit MEP, thermal modelling of buildings using IES, snagging ongoing projects on site.
