  As Vice President of Member & Community Relations at Eastern Illini Electric Cooperative, I lead a team dedicated to exceeding our members' expectations. Our group has five main focuses: member relations, member care (customer service), communication, community relations, and information technology. Some of the many electric co-op functions in my department include: billing, accounts receivable, member services, IT, key accounts, renewable energy, capital credits, social media, general communication, ancillary products and services, and community engagement. I also focus on developing meaningful relationships with our area legislators, the media, educators and local civic groups.I am the editor of our various publications (monthly hard-copy and digital newsletters, annual report, and special publications).I regularly work with the media and legislators to emphasize the unique cooperative business model.I also work with our members to educate them on energy efficiency and ways to manage their electric use.I have earned the Certified Cooperative Communicator (CCC) distinction and recently completed a term as the elected Chairman of the CCC Program Board. I currently reside on the Council of Rural Electric Communicators. Show less

  I managed all aspects of a local soccer club's two annual tournaments. Each tournament brought in 150-200 teams, and approximately 4,000 participants (and their families).I led a management team of about 10 people, a volunteer work force of about 150, and about 80 paid officials.Each tournament brought it's own challenges, including: keeping teams happy as I schedule 300+ soccer games in two days, over multiple locations; managing our finances to ensure the club makes money; and striking a balance between all of our audiences (the club, attending teams, volunteers, officials, tournament staff) to keep them happy and wanting to come back.
