  Undergraduate Research Assistant

  - I worked as a research apprentice under the supervision of Esther Walton, a lecturer at the University of Bath, assisting with her research project titled “Literature review on epigenetics of child mental health”.- During this apprenticeship, I extensively reviewed previous literature relating to epigenetics and identified the articles most relevant to Esther’s research question on child mental health. Additionally, I summarized the details of previous longitudinal studies done on the topic (details such as sample size, the use of DNA methylation etc.).- This apprenticeship significantly refined my attention to detail as I had to scan through well over 200 research papers looking for specific keywords that would highlight their relevance to my supervisor’s research question as well as help identify characteristics of the longitudinal studies. Reviewing such a large volume of literature spanning from 2017 to 2019 and compiling and organizing my findings into multiple Excel spreadsheets makes me confident I can deal with copious amounts of documents with both efficiency and meticulousness.   Marketing Officer

  -I manage the social media accounts of Meditation society. This includes creating weekly posts for the society’s Instagram and Facebook pages to notify followers of upcoming meditation sessions and events, as well as improving engagement on our social media accounts by responding to comments and private messages to the society, answering doubts and questions about events and sessions hosted by the society. - I build relationships with other societies and marketing teams at the university to do collaborations and promote the society to more students at the university.-This role stimulates my creativity as I create new, exciting social media content every week using Canva to encourage students to come to sessions and social events hosted by the society. My networking skills are sharpened in this role too as I contact other marketing faculties to devise promotional strategies to reach out to students via digital and face-to-face marketing. Show less
