  This position entails the responsibilities of completing the day-to-day operations necessary to run a successful Division I Men's Ice Hockey program. As the most senior manager on the staff, I coordinate daily meeting times and manage the distribution of the workload for the six-member staff. Further obligations include organizing and packing equipment for more than twenty team road trips each season. Additional tasks include providing the appropriate accommodations for visiting teams and media members when hosting home games.   Spent the summer working in Putnam's Retail Management division. Working for the Relationship Management and Strategic Accounts teams, this experience entailed drawing up competitive reports comparing Putnam mutual funds against funds offered by other firms. Analyzed the recommended lists that broker dealers, independents and banks offered to their financial advisors and reported the categories in which Putnam funds offered an advantage using Morningstar Direct. Analyzed Merrill Lynch's Nontraditional Funds List and substituted Putnam funds to identify their effectiveness compared to funds already on the list. The team could leverage this information to try to persuade Merrill Lynch to adopt more Putnam mutual funds to their list. Provided market metrics reports to the team to determine the degree to which the Putnam salesforce maximized regional market opportunities for any given firm. Grew familiar with the relationship between financial advisors and mutual fund wholesalers and learned about Putnam products used to enhance the experience for advisors. Show less
