  Conducted research into institutionalised girls’ experience of place, belonging and identity following physical and psychological abuse at the Parramatta Girls Home/Female Factory. The Parramatta Girls Home functioned as a school for convict women and later young girls who had been abandoned, neglected or committed minor offences during the 1880s-1980s. The research explored secondary data, including graffiti markings, self harm scars and autobiographies, to consider the impact of these institution on placemaking and identity. Show less

Conducting qualitative research into the experience of physical movement practice (sport/yoga) amongst displaced communities in Europe. Considering the implications of ‘sport for development’ and ‘sport for health’ frameworks amongst refugees and asylum seekers detained within Closed and Controlled Access Centres (CCACs) in Greece, and temporary settlements in France. Also exploring grassoort humanitarianism and advocacy through sport within small NGOs and the impact of community-led sport initiatives on local understandings of health/wellbeing. Show less
