As an Equipment Specialist in the MMC, I was responsible for coordinating vehicle maintenance and repairs serving all General Services Administration (GSA) Fleet customers through a national maintenance control system. Part of process included making a variety of technical and analytical determinations regarding the nature of repairs, costs associated with or projected for the repair, cost replacements for parts and similar decisions. Procuring maintenance repairs & services also involved collecting and analyzing data compiled from computer generated reports to track trends pertaining to performance differences among regions, perform follow-ups to determine and document the effects of policy and procedure changes, review and evaluate vehicle quality deficiency reports, service bulletins, vehicle manufacturer service recommendations, and any other pertinent sources of information, submitting a written analysis with supporting data to the team leader/supervisor, along with recommendations concerning appropriate action. The process always involved the application of various evaluation methods and techniques concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of the Maintenance Control Center (MCC) operations; emphasizing on the quality and timeliness of support provided using knowledge of Maintenance Control Center and GSA programs.
