      Part of a research cohort which virtually investigated crowdsourced and official data landscapes in Central America, with my focus being the country of Belize. This National Science Foundation/YouthMappers research project, lead by Dr. Patricia Solís of Arizona State University, sought to understand the state and direction of Volunteered Geographic Information (VGI), especially OpenStreetMap, within countries of Central America.

      Geographic Information Systems Intern

      Assisted the GIS Administrator and other county offices. Projects included updating the county’s regulated drains map, creating Python scripts for routine tasks, verifying addresses in the field using ESRI mobile apps, and creating production exhibits for a countywide road repaving project.

      Analyzed internal geodemographic data and external client data (in Alteryx, ArcGIS Pro, or Excel) to generate reports, maps, and custom requests with quick turnaround time.Conducted quality control and worked with a group of five interns as we updated the geofence library. Digitized retail locations with high precision and accuracy using ArcGIS Pro for Canada’s largest geofence library.Participated in continuous improvement of the geofence library by generating suggestions and engaging in problem-solving activities to support teamwork.
