  Trainee Architectural Technologist

  I joined Michael Dyson Associates in July 2010 where I was employed within the Design Team. My duties included site surveying and measurement, production of construction drawings, 3 dimensional modeling and the production of video walkthroughs for presentation purposes. On numerous occasions I acted as lead surveyor undertaking measurement surveys on anything from individual properties to 200 plus, spread across multiple towns and villages. Typical duties involved property cataloguing, liaising with residents and clients, carrying out the surveys and the production of planning drawings.I also participated in the measurement survey of over 1000 non-traditional properties for RCT Homes in South Wales, producing planning, building regulation and construction drawings.Additionally, I was involved in a number of high-rise refurbishment projects in the North East of England and Central London. I would carry out surveys as well as produce planning drawings, construction details and create 3D visuals for presentations to both residents and clients.At MDA I also contributed to feasibility work. Examples include; the conversion of care homes into residential properties for North Lincolnshire Homes, the refurbishment of tower blocks for Salix Homes and Wandsworth Council plus the refurbishment of a MENCAP facility for Chevin Housing Associates.   Freelance Architectural Technologist

  After completing my degree I was approached by Michael Dyson Associates to undertake measured surveys and produce a series of drawings for potential refurbishment works to a number of care homes based in North Lincolnshire. Working to a tight deadline I was provided an assistant fieldwork manager to aid me during the survey phase, this gave me a great opportunity to organise and supervise another member of staff whilst working on site.
