    • Blossor

      Sept 2014 - Jun 2016
      UX/UI Designer

https://www.Blossor.com/ is a real estate search site that uses natural language searches (instead of complex filters) to help users find a house that meets not only their price range, but their lifestyle. The audience isn't just people looking to buy a home, but also those just browsing for ideas for their own home, or those just dreaming. Professionals in the real estate industry can also use Blossor to build and maintain their network by keeping in touch and providing their connections with answers to any questions or showing requests they may have. Blossor has been designed to be 100% responsive, which makes the experience on an HD desktop monitor just as good as on mobile. My role on the team was in UX research and Interaction Design. I collaborated with the product manager on task-flows, wireframes and prototypes with a close-knit team of Developers to get features finished and shipped. One of the biggest challenges on this project has been figuring out creative ways to cope with the variation in data we're given by our feeds. Since we rely on agents for that data, it can be vastly different in completion and quality from region to region and even between agents. Show less

    • Brivity

      Sept 2014 - Nov 2016
      Product Manager, Lead UX Designer

As Product Manager/Owner I translated business and customer requirements & desires into a user-focused vision, breaking out SMART goals, wrote user stories and prioritized them in the roadmap for agile development. Identified opportunities based on qualitative insights from generative user interviews, feedback from sales, support, customer success and leadership stakeholders, quantitative business and behavioral insights, and market research. As Creative Director and Lead UX Designer, I hired and mentored a team of designers. I conducted user interviews and usability testing, evaluated the outcome of previous work, and provided user journeys, user stories, wireframes, prototypes, and high fidelity mockups to increase engineering velocity, and improve collaboration with other stakeholders. My work drove not only a higher quality feedback and development process, but also happier customers, a more sustainable product, and a 396% growth in revenue over 3 years. • Western Washington University

      Jan 2016 - Jan 2016
      Adjunct Instructor

Created a curriculum for a Summer course teaching intro to design for students wishing to apply to Western Washington University's Design program. Within the 40 hours of instruction, I sought to instruct the students in - the basic principles of visual design- what "good process" looks like and why it is necessary- how to prepare for easy file management- how to use Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop (and when to use each)- understanding when to use specific file types- the very basics of typography and hierarchy- how to present data and information so that it communicates what it needs to- a bit about User Experience, usability and user researchWe also took a short field trip into the downtown area to visit two businesses to give them the opportunity to talk to professionals working in the field of design. The students completed the course with 2 quizzes and a total of 5 assignments that both provided practice for those skills, and tested their acquisition and understanding of those concepts. They left the class with print-outs of their finished work, digital files, and a working, laser-etched clock face with their own design on it. Show less
