Here's something that I do at work:1. Create technical and end user help content for Saba products2. Architect, manage and own the online help system - includes: - DITA based content structuring - designing a web based help portal - defining the e-publishing mechnism3. Generate API documentation4. Craft developer guides for internal as well external audience5. Research on the latest trending technologies to improve the current help infrastructure6. Lead the team of technical writers - assign documentation tasks to the team membersIn addition to documenting at Saba, here are some of the major technical developments I’ve done in Saba:1. Build Saba's next generation help system using MediaWiki, PHP, Apache and MySQL – Here the DITA based help content was directly published to MediaWiki using API. It included: Setting up a web server, and configuring the publishing virtual machine.2. Automate generation of the REST API and database documentation from the source files using XSL scripts.3. Moved the existing MediaWiki based help system to the latest using Oxygen's WebHelp – This included: - Developing a web based prototype- Getting the prototype developed into a HTML based WebHelp template- Setting up a new Web Server to accommodate the new publishing mechanism- Integrated Lucene as the search engine for our help center4. Automating the help deployments using TeamCity. This included:- Working with the Eng. team to integrate TeamCity with the help server- Setup daily help deployment jobs5. Moving the help to a version control system using GIT.6. Carried out a major content restructuring activity across all the help content to make help more search friendly, by adding related topics, FAQs, etc.7. Introduced feedback mechanism in our help to capture feedback on help pages from customers.8. Developed a new developer portal for hosting API and other technical documentation.9. Developed Walkme(s). Show less
