Its focus lies beyond national boundaries and disciplinary distinctions when it comes to health and healthcare.The research master’s in Global Health is a small-scale programme with a ‘hands-on’ approach. It brings together students and staff from all over the world with a wide variety of academic backgrounds. This diversity of perspectives enriches the discussions in courses and team projects. Through intensive individual and group research assignments and two internships, I got the chance to learn about a broad range of topics, such as infectious and chronic diseases, child and maternal care, mental health, and financial costs related to healthcare. Furthermore, the program has offered the chance to work from multi-, inter-, and transdisciplinary perspectives on different topics, in different contexts. Show less

The first year covered courses about biology, environmental and earth sciences, logic, physics, chemistry, astronomy, mathematics, economics, political science, psychology, sociology, anthropology, artificial intelligence, neuroscience, social geography and philosophy. After the first year, I chose the major Brain & Cognition, which was part of the Psychology bachelors. This major focused on how to perform scientific research and on translating psychological questions into a research design. Moreover, the third year focused on a diverse range of topics (e.g., Learning & Memory, Emotions, Neuroscience). Furthermore, during the whole course, you connect with students from the first year, all from different disciplines, and perform interesting interdisciplinary research projects together. Show less
