Master of Science - MS Computer Science
  • Experience

    • University of Virginia

      Apr 2018 - May 2020
      Undergraduate Researcher

      • Analyzed the plausibility of 3-D printing active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) through experimentation in order to improve efficiency and eliminate error in medicinal distribution• Spearheaded changes to the printer’s coded instructions (GCode) to optimize and fully automate a 3+ hour process. Modifications removed prior requirements for manual intervention and continuous monitoring during the printing of the sample. These changes also permitted a 500% increase in the sample size, allowing for more samples to be tested and a better analysis of data.• Utilized Infrared Spectroscopy, Ultraviolet Visualization, and Profilometry equipment to perform data analysis of the dissolved 3-D printed samples. The purpose was to determine the concentration of the API over time. Through further experiments, discovered calibration error with the profilometer which the vendor had to fix; this prevented future undergraduate and graduate research projects from obtaining inaccurate results.
