Main duties:Working collaboratively with colleagues in the wellbeing and other advisory departments to deliver a timely and professional service for applicants and students who are in the midst of, or have a history of, mental health difficulties. To liaise with staff across the college, including lecturers, personal tutors, security and the students union; providing training, advice and the promotion of mental wellbeing for students.Responsibilities:Assuming a key role in supporting responses to critical student incidents where mental health may be a contributory factor.Working flexibly and independently with line management support and working outside regular hours in the event of a crisis situation arising.Current priorities:Assessing the requirements of new and potential students and outlining the provisions that the college can put in place for them. Where we cannot support students individual needs, I am advising students on external support and the provisions that they may access through them. This enhances our students ability to make well informed choices and provides them with the awareness of what the college can and cannot provide. Show less
