  I am still associated with Serjeants LLP but from 01 April 2024 I have moved into a consultancy role, mostly working with existing clients. I have obtained patents for inventions ranging from gas turbines and flight control systems to mosaic floor tiles and equipment for creasing paper, with a recent focus on medical devices.The essentials of our work have not changed: we combine our knowledge of science and technology with our knowledge of intellectual property law to prepare and file patent and trade mark applications for our clients. We use our experience to get the strongest protection for the invention, design or trade mark in question so that our client can either stop competitors from copying it or charge them a royalty to continue. A patent can also be used to reduce UK corporation tax using the Patent Box scheme.We can also give practical advice if you discover that someone is infringing your intellectual property or if you yourself are accused of infringement.
