  • Experience

    • SUNY Geneseo

      Aug 2010 - May 2012
      Lab Instructor

I taught General Physics I and II lab courses. The fall semesters included mechanics labs while the spring semesters focused on electricity and magnetism. All the student lab instructors and our supervisor met the Friday before each lab to discuss important aspects of the following week's lesson. Each week I prepared for the lab, graded student work, held office hours, answered student emails, and taught a two hour lab.

    • University of the Pacific - McGeorge School of Law

      May 2013 - May 2015
      Research Assistant for Professor Landsberg

I performed research, editing, and drafting assistance for Professor Landsberg at McGeorge School of Law. The projects I worked on included a longer, book-length case study of the Lee v. Macon County school desegregation case as it relates to separation of powers, structural injunctions, efficacy of seeking social change through the courts, and other related themes. I also assisted Professor Landsberg with three articles. The article "Enforcing Desegregation: A Case Study of Federal District Court Power and Social Change in Macon County Alabama" published in Law & Society Review Volume 48, Number 4, Page 867 (2014) provides some of the themes in Professor Landsberg's longer work (abstract and description linked below). • Chemung County Court (Judge Rich)

      May 2014 - Jun 2014
      Summer Intern

I worked on cases pending before the Chemung County Court including family law and criminal cases. I drafted decisions for review by Judge Rich and the court's law clerk, Brian Dovi, researched points of law necessary for decisions using Westlaw, and attended related court hearings and trials.

    • Corning Incorporated

      Jun 2014 - Aug 2014
      Summer Law Clerk (IP Department)

I drafted office action responses, drafted claims, drafted and reviewed patent applications, prepared an office memorandum, prepared and presented a PowerPoint at an IP Department "Brown Bag" lunch, searched Thompson Innovation for prior art in varying contexts, met with Corning engineers to discuss inventions, and attended patent portfolio meetings. I worked directly with about ten to twelve Patent Attorneys and one Patent Agent in Corning's IP Department on the projects. The memorandum and PowerPoint focused on trade secret law and the proper response if the Department discovered improperly acquired trade secrets of a competitor. Show less
