  With my partner, we homeschooled our two children while living in a cabin in small town Nighthawk, Colorado in the Pike National Forest and on the road across the USA.We used a variety of approaches and resources including Montessori philosophy. Over a period of 18 months we also explored 30 states, from the Arctic Circle in Alaska to New York City, and Oceti Sakowin in North Dakota where we supported the First Nation 'Water is Life' movement and learned from the local communities.

  In New South Wales public schools there is a period of time set aside each week for ethics or scripture. As an ethics teacher, I had the opportunity to deliver classes that support children in developing their moral reasoning capabilities.
