Eligible events include both one-off events and annual events such as Come-and Try days, Adventure Races, Expos or Festivals, major state/national/international championships, jamborees, etc. Events may be ‘significant’ with respect to the number of competitors or entrants/attendees, the turnover or funds raised and/or the number of individuals involved in the event’s organisation and conduct.Nominees for this Award may have demonstrated one or more of the following:- Extensive involvement and support from businesses and/or the local community.- Development of procedures to ensure the event was environmentally, economically and socially sustainable.- Effective promotion resulting in the attraction of substantial numbers of interstate or overseas competitors or entrants/attendees.- Coordination of significant numbers of volunteers.- Innovative event planning, marketing, sponsorship, risk management or facility design Show less
