    • QUALITY FOOD PRODUCTS

      Jul 1990 - Jun 1991
      Factory Manager

I served Quality Food Products, Lahore (affiliated with International Multifoods). QFP is a vegetables and fruits dehydrating plant. Pakistan produces seasonal vegetables in abundance almost all the year round. A considerable proportion of these vegetables get spoiled before reaching the customer. These losses can be minimized by adopting scientific techniques to convert the surplus produce of glut season into non-perishable products by way of preservation. Dehydration offers an economical and satisfactory means to extend the shell life of vegetables. The dehydrated products are light in the weight and occupy less space, cheap and stable under ordinary storage conditions. These can serve as for daily dishes or for off-season consumption. I organized this factory regarding administration, process, production, and packaging and worked at fresh vegetables & fruits and developed the dehydrated products like potatoes & tomatoes (slices / powder), spinach leaves, onion (flakes / powder) garlic, okra, mango & banana (slices / chips), mango jam. Improved effluent & waste disposal and installed some equipment. I handled, controlled and improved the main Unit Processes & Unit Operations. I gained hands-on experience of major machinery.
