Our mission is to enhance people's ability to understand and communicate data through the design of new interactive system for data visualization and analysis.What is my role as a research assistant?- Worked on a self-proposed project on hand gesture recognition using PCA (Principal Component Analysis)- Collecting statistical data to examine and determine the inference pattern of the model using Python and OpenCV- Achieved 67% recognition accuracy at the end of the research term.   Software Engineer Intern

  During the summer 2019, I was accepted to an internship to work on VascuSight, a software that uses 3D Ultrasound technology to diagnose and monitor critically ill-patients. What is my role as a software/research intern?- Developed an automated non-invasive device to measure the patients’ circulating blood volume and provide timely resuscitation guidance in the event of an emergency.- Obtained liver-scanned images and work on image detection of the liver blobs from the existing statistical data using Matlab, achieving 70% of detection accuracy.- Developed a complete reimbursement strategy of the start-up products by conducting a series of informational interviews.- Presented the work at the Comotion Mary Gates Research Expo at the end of the internship Show less
