  I manage code enforcement for unincorporated Volusia County. My current jurisdiction is approximately 1,100 square miles and a population of 200,000+ citizens. My team includes one supervisor, five inspectors and a budget of just over $800k to "fight blight" in our community. We meet this challenge through a team approach and use all of the "tools" in our "tool box". One example is I give presentations to different groups and HOA's to help educate on what is required by county code. My team members are all certified though the Florida Association of Code Enforcement. Show less
