    • Research Work for Ph.D.

      Mar 1990 - Aug 1995
Ph.D. Research Scholar ( worked as JRF and SRF), Department of Botany, Bose Institute

Ph.D. Work was on rice cells at physiological and biochemical level to analyze the molecular responses of rice cells under heat stress in relation to study different di and polyamines levels, the work was conducted in tissue cultured rice callus and rice plants were regenerated from heat stressed rice cells those were exposed to differed level of heat stress both at temperature and time variables. The work was performed under the guidance of Prof. Bharati Ghosh, Dept. of Botany, Bose Institute, Kolkata, India. Ph.D. degree was obtained in Science (Plant) in 1996 from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India. After that worked as Post Doctoral Fellow of Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India (May 1996-March 1997) at Department of Botany, Bose Institute. Show less

    • Rockefeller Foundation Post Doctorl Fellow

      Apr 1997 - Sept 1999
Post Doctoral Fellow, Section of Biotechnology and Molecular Genetics, Cornell University

Worked as Rockefeller foundation Post Doctoral Fellow in Rice Biotechnology Program, in the Laboratory of Prof. Ray Wu, Section of Biotechnology, Cornell University. Developed salt and drought stress tolerant japonica rice plants by transferring polyamine biosynthetic genes arginine decarboxylase and S-adenosylmethionine decarboxylase.
