      Master's Thesis Project - Leaching of Pyrrhotite from Nickel Concentrate

      A hydrometallurgical thesis covering the leaching of pyrrhotite from Boliden Kevitsa's sulfidic Nickel concentrate and ideas for valorizing the formed by-products:- Results indicated a selective leaching process, wherein pyrrhotite was readily dissolved in sulfuric acid and more than 95wt% of Co, Ni, and Cu remained in the leached residue.- The dissolved ferrous iron can be crystallized as ferrous sulfate (FeSO4*nH2O) and further dehydrated to monohydrate.
