  Engaged in a Clinical Clerkship in General Surgery at Hialeah Hospital, where I actively participated in a wide range of surgical procedures including but not limited to open, laparoscopic, and robotic surgeries such as hernia repairs, cholecystectomies, mastectomies, and appendicectomies. My role involved participation in the OR as well as pre-op and post-op rounds, offering me comprehensive exposure to the surgical process. I was privileged to learn from esteemed surgeons in specialized fields, including vascular surgeries under Dr. Jose Lamas and bariatric surgeries with Dr. Raul Mederos, enhancing my knowledge and skills in advanced surgical techniques. Grateful for the opportunity to learn from esteemed professionals like Dr. Beierle, Dr. Russell, and Dr. Anderson and knowledgeable and friendly fellows like Dr. Esparaz and Dr. Pickens and to engage directly in patient care, surgical procedures, and the use of Epic EMR system.This rotation solidified my passion for pediatric surgery, teaching me the importance of meticulous attention to detail, the value of a compassionate bedside manner, and the critical role of teamwork in healthcare. This experience was further enriched by observing surgeries conducted by recognized leaders in the field like Dr. David Adams, as well as exceptional surgeons like Dr. Anyanwu, Dr. El-Hamamsy, and Dr. Verghese. I gained invaluable hands-on experience and insights into the intricacies of cardiac care.This elective further deepened my passion for surgery while making me aware of the complexities and equipped me with critical skills and knowledge. I am thankful for the mentorship I received, which has profoundly influenced my medical perspective and approach.Excited to bring these experiences into my continuing medical education in India, I look forward to contributing to advancements in cardiac surgery.
