  My Senior Database Administrator position resides within the Business Solutions Group of DOT within King County IT. My primary role is to provide Database Administration of over 200 SQL Server databases as a part of a team effort that support business critical systems in multiple Divisions of the Department of Transportation.In this role, I am relied on to provide expert support to other DOT IT staff on needs ranging from database analysis, implementation and management and also serve as a subject matter expert for multiple Roads Services Division databases. Regular activities include consultation and support to application developers, system engineers and IT project managers. Show less Responsible for the complex support and management of over 380+ servers, desktops, mobile devices and other systems over the LAN/WAN by ensuring that they are all properly configured to achieve maximum security, efficiency and performance. Major duties included the following.1. Manage and coordinate the researching, testing and deployment of system patches, McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator, Verdiem Power Management, Anti-Spyware and other complex critical software and applications. 2. Responsible for supporting users locally and remotely which included managing and responding to service requests over the LAN/WAN. This is achieved by using a triage approach to maximize user up-time and escalating requests as appropriate.3. Project lead, decision maker and business coordinator for various ongoing complex projects by managing, researching and deploying solutions that provide better overall efficiency. Examples include:• Automation and optimization of mass software installations to cut down on support time, system hardware upgrades, imaging and deployment of all new systems. • Manage the deployment of the Verdiem Surveyor Power Management tool to monitor and reduce power consumption for PC’s.• Researched, tested and determined major changes and switch upgrades in the reorganization of IDF data closets to optimize LAN/WAN connectivity.4. Responsible for supporting and maintaining a complex reliable and efficient data backup and recovery system utilizing Symantec Backup Exec Suite.5. Design, configure, test and deploy software and other critical system configurations by utilizing Group Policies, Altiris Deployment Console, SysInternals products and various other administrative tools.6.
