  Nigel Blagg Associates is an independent psychology practice working with children, adults and families to provide psychological reports for the Family Court and private individuals. My responsibilities within this role included:- Accompanying Dr Blagg on psychological assessments and taking comprehensive notes- Assisting in the delivery of standardised tests under supervision- Scoring of psychometric tests under supervision – both paper based and electronic (e.g. Q Global platform) - Typing up initial draft of notes taken during assessments under supervision- Reviewing assessment findings and contributing to case formulation- Preparation of case files- Summarising information from court bundles or medical records as appropriate- Arranging appointments with clients to include liaison with Social Services, schools, solicitors, foster carers, contact venues etc.- Arranging for the correct materials to be ready and available to be taken on assessments (e.g. psychometric tests, case files, note books and pens)- Dictation of reports to screen- Accepting new referrals from solicitors, offering timescales, preparing estimates and submitting CVs- Proof-reading and editing and type-setting psychologists’ reports Show less

  Research Intern

  This role involved assisting with the planning and running of two experimental studies looking at the role of feeling understood on empathy and pro-social behaviour outcomes. I was involved in the study design, amending a survey using Qualtrics survey software and creating stimulus materials, recruiting participants, and tidying and analysing the data. I will also be assisting in the write up of the research paper in due course with the aim to publish the paper.
