  I am in charge of teaching varying degrees of environmental related topics such as soil and water analyses, bioremediation and phytoremediation at undergraduate level. Also, setting of laboratory equipment and materials before any environmental research session. Furthermore, enlightening graduate and undergraduate students on environmental research methodologies and guiding them during their thesis works in the laboratory. Finally, guiding undergraduate students on the basic skills and techniques needed during seminar and research presentations, setting exam questions, invigilation of exams, marking of exam scripts and grading of results.   I was saddled with the responsibility of isolating microorganisms from environmental sources, extracted DNA from the microorganisms, performed gel electrophoresis and nanodrop analyses to evaluate the quality and concentration of the nucleic acids, carried out polymerase chain reaction analysis on the isolated DNA, as well as sequencing and blasting to successfully identify the microorganisms. In addition to the varying degrees of analyses performed in the environmental and molecular biology laboratories, I mentored a significant number of new intern students, and also enlightened college students during their academic excursions to abreast them with the analyses being carried out in these laboratories.This internship significantly broadened my academic and research horizons.
