As a signal Officer for the Indiana National Guard, I have severed in many roles. First is that of a platoon leader in a signal company which supports the brigade. My platoon consisted of 20 Soldiers in which we operated various communication equipment ensure successful mission training. Second assignment was assistant information assurance officer and simultaneously worked with the computer network defense team (CND). Which deals with the security and access of information. The third assignment was a battalion S6. This role is to plan and coordinate all communications on the battalion level and to advise the battalion commander. Once again this is myself leading a platoon size element to set and implement communication equipment and training for 5 companies. I currently serve as the knowledge management officer for an aviation brigade. The KMO is responsible for creating, facilitating, and managing a knowledge transfer system designed to harness emerging enemy and friendly TTPs at the tactical level. This is a generic description without going into the exact communication equipment or locations of assignments. Show less
