Manage communication and outreach with the Veteran community in Watertown through various means (Social Media, in-person events). Support Watertown community stakeholders for events such as the Faire on the Square, Who-ville Christmas Light Show, and Poppy Picnic. Coordinate with Veteran organizations to host patriotic holidays in the community, to include Memorial Day, Veterans' Day, Pearl Harbor, and Flag Day. Temporarily appointed to Temporary Town Clerk, supervising the Town Clerk's Office in administration of issuing various licenses and permits; management of public records; and swearing in various offices throughout the Town.Served as Acting Director of Senior Services, responsible for developing,planning, organizing, promoting, and administering programs and services for a diversepopulation of senior citizens, including a monthly newsletter and calendar of activities,transportation and Senior Shuttle bus services, counseling, information referral, oversees alloperations, staff and volunteers at the Senior Center building, and the Watertown Food Pantry.   Your Department of Veterans' Services has been providing services and benefits to veterans and to the dependents of veterans since 1861. From the date of that commitment by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, that insured that no individual who served his or her state and nation with honor during periods of war or other conflicts, would never be "pauperized" or forced to turn to public welfare for assistance. The Massachusetts Executive Office and the Massachusetts House and Senate have shown their continued concern for the welfare of the veteran and his or her dependents with the fullest support of one of the most comprehensive programs for the veterans in the country - The Department of Veterans' Services and the local Department of Veterans' Services.As President of the MVSOA, my goal has been to support our VSOs and Veterans in the Commonwealth by ensuring VSOs have a seat at any table where Veteran policy is discussed. We've been successful so far, but still have work to do.
