During our 2018 Annual General Meeting, I was elected by our club members as the new President for the 2018/19 Academic Year. Over this Year, in partnership with my committee members, I was able to bring about positive change to the club. This included promoting the club significantly to increase membership, increasing the amount of club trips organised whilst also improving the quality of the trips by funding some of our members to attend training sessions organised by the Speleological Union of Ireland (SUI) and also the Irish Cave Rescue Organisation (ICRO), but by also broadening the regions in which we ventured out to, including County Fermanagh, County Clare and trips to the Peak District in England. It was fantastic to see this work summed up by the rewriting and acceptance of our new Constitution which was ratified by club members during the 2019 AGM.Overall, the experience of begin Club President for the year has significantly improved a number of my core skills, including teamwork, organisation and communication skills. I am proud with how the club matured over the year and believe it has been handed over to a fantastic committee for the 2019/20 Academic Year. Show less
