  DMM is a UK manufacturer of high quality rock climbing and industrial height safety equipment and is a consultancy manufacturer for the MOD, Motorsport teams, Ski brands, Mammut, Petzl, Cresto, Middleburn and British Telecom. My role in the factory is to manage and participate in new product development including specification writing, concept generation, 3D design, prototyping, testing, productionisation, material sourcing, costing and visualise imagery of product designs predominantly for the consumer outdoor and industrial market.Within first-run manufacture I provide a technical support role to ensure the product has a smooth path through the factory or from the supply chain, debugging processes through assembly and component inspection procedures and implementing required documentation and process rationalisation and quality assurance techniques. I introduced photo-realistic rendering/animation and 3D FDM printing to allow development of products sooner, in more detail and with improved visual impact for less financial outlay.I have initiated a strategy to refine and streamline DMM's design process and file management systems to ensure compliance with ISO:9001 and to create a standardised system to improve the working efficiency and integrity of development and tooling data. Through attending international trade shows and my own professional network I have brought substantial manufacturing contracts in to DMM, addressing quotations quickly and with the upmost professionalism, always being a personable point of contact for clients.My involvement with the design of forging, injection moulding, CNC milling/turning, extrusion and casting products and the subsequent design and CAD modelling of tooling is significant. Throughout my time at DMM I have designed, tested at 3 Sigma level, debugged manufacturing and gained European Certification for over 35 safety critical products. Show less
