  PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Supervise shift personnel in the manufacture of plant products consistent with high quality and safety standards. • Maintain close observation of orders to keep informed of manufacturing status and, when needed, initiate the necessary steps to conform to schedule. • Promote and support site initiatives including safety programs, lean initiatives, training programs, and consistently interpret & apply all policies, practices and procedures among plant employees. • Recommend and implement measures to motivate employees and to encourage employees to recommend ways to improve process, quality, safety and efficiency. • Routinely evaluate employee performance and identify training needs. Coach and counsel employees for performance, attendance and behavior. Participate in the resolution of employee relations issues.• Review and approve work time in the appropriate time keeping system. Maintain and verify accuracy of the hours each employee has worked.• Adjust direct labor to support demand and manage available resources to ensure on time production and delivery of customer orders. • Ensure SOPs, cGMP, OSHA and Safety regulations are followed.• Perform routine visual inspection of work areas for unusual occurrences, safety hazards, housekeeping, work space organization and generate work orders where appropriate.• Liaise with internal and external customers and other departments as appropriate.• Participate in special project teams as assigned.• Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs.• Conforms with and abides by all laws, regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules.Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance Show less FUNCTION Support the manufacturing operation by investigating production related process problems and/or issues using Statistical Process Control tools and techniques to identify root causes and come up with possible solutions and corrective actions. ACCOUNTABILITIES1. Support the Manufacturing and Quality departments in investigating production related problems with the occurrences of Out of Specification and Product Investigation related events.2. Retrieve production and quality records to review items for deviations opposite established processes and procedures. This also includes control charts and statistical information regarding the process, as well as product retains when required.3. Become a subject matter expert in all departments to help with problem solving and root cause failure analysis.4. Provide reports on investigation findings from product control charts, product retains, batch records, production records and maintenance records etc. Based on these reviews, recommend solutions to prevent or eliminate reoccurrence of these production issues.5. Document all corrective actions (including revising procedures, SOI’s, work instructions, etc) and assist in training all affected area personnel.6. Assist the area manager in resolving any problems that are inhibiting throughput on the shop floor.7. Acquire the necessary problem solving skills to be a resource to all other departments.8. Understand the Area Managers position well enough to fill in for them on limited basis.9. Support the process/continuous improvement group with trials, validations and development of new processes during your assigned shift.10. Perform all other duties and responsibilities as requested or assigned Show less POSITION SUMMARY: Oversee and assist the operation of their shift/production area while safely and accurately keeping all assigned mold presses operating. Also, to provide a source of technical skills in mold maintenance, cleaning, press set-up, problem solving and material storage.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Oversee the work of their team members on their assigned shift and support the Area & Functional Managers in all regards. This includes taking a leadership role on-site when no member of management is present (i.e. typically this occurs in weekend coverage situations) and reporting all unusual, personnel or performance related issues to management for resolution.Assist Area Manager and departmental management on a routine day to day basis and communicate with these parties and coworkers throughout the shift and between shifts; notifying and keeping all necessary parties apprised of product/work related issues so that all necessary actions may be taken.Prepare molds for production including clean-up runs, conditioning runs and eccentricitychecks.Perform installation, removal, delivery, retrieval, transport, assembly, disassembly and cleaning of molds and other associated machinery and equipment; assuring that adequate materials and equipment are at the required location in order to perform this work in the safest, most effective and efficient manner possible.Maintain the various mold cleaning bath tanks.Troubleshoot, problem-solve, relieve operators, apply solution as required or requested and ensure processes are running within the predetermined control parameters.Perform all necessary preventative maintenance work on assigned equipment.Crate/uncrate incoming and out-going molds.Prepare, complete and maintain all necessary paperwork including production and mold maintenance file forms, reports and other related records.Assign jobs within the mold area as needed. Ensure that the equipment is set up accurately.2. Operate the mold press to produce molded panels of product following site SOI’s and work instructions.3. Operate an automatic trim press as needed following site SOI’s and work instructions. Cell Techs must also be able to operate a manual trim press.4. Alert the Area Manager to conditions that may prevent meeting production and quality expectations.5. Accurately maintain all required documentation and paperwork.6. Maintain product traceability.7. Inspect molded work to ensure quality product is being produced.8. Move materials into and out of the area as required.9. Keep equipment and work area in clean and orderly condition.10.
