  Internship of 6 months during the final year of my diploma, focused on gaining professional experience by working with elite-level athletes and normal population. Primary goal of this internship was to collect data (quantitative and qualitative) regarding my Bachelor's thesis with title: « The preventative effect a of 6-week eccentric focused strengthening protocol, on the recurrence of hamstring strain injuries (HSI), in amateur and professional athletes of high-velocity running sports: A case report ». Additionally to conducting research for my thesis, I was actively taking part in assessing and treating a variety of patients with musculoskeletal conditions, on a daily basis. Show less

  Physiotherapy Intern

  Final internship of the educational curriculum before graduating. The focus of this internship was on assessing and treating patients with more severe conditions, some of the patients I got to work with were: Stroke patients, Parkinson's patients, Multiple Sclerosis patients, Post-operative patients recovering from orthopaedic procedures (fractures, hip/ knee replacements), chronic conditions (diabetes, cancer, CRPS) , hemiplegic, paraplegic, quadriplegic patients. Additionaly, the rehabilitation center also had bed-ridden patients with severe motor and cognitive deficiencies, for which palliative care was provided. All in all a great experience, as I got to be part of a very large multidisciplinary team including a wide variety of professions and specialties, while experiencing first hand the demands and skills required to operate in such a demanding environment.
