  Research Assistant

  I had the opportunity to work as a Research Assistant at the School READY Lab, where I contributed to a variety of projects aimed at improving school readiness and fostering effective educational interventions. My responsibilities included the implementation of research techniques, data collection and analysis, and collaboration with team members to share knowledge and expertise.One of my key tasks involved utilizing Dialogic Reading to assess the quality of caregiver-child interactions during 5-minute reading observation videos. This technique allowed our team to analyze the dynamics of the interaction and identify areas for potential improvement in the caregiver's approach to literacy development.Additionally, I was responsible for inputting and verifying data related to summer intervention programs and various academic and behavioral assessment measures. This helped ensure the accuracy and reliability of our research findings, which are crucial for informing evidence-based interventions and strategies.I administered a comprehensive battery of school readiness assessments and received training to administer social-emotional and behavioral assessments. This experience allowed me to develop a deep understanding of the various factors that contribute to a child's readiness for school, as well as the interventions that can positively impact their development.   Summer Academy

  At Summer Academy, I served as a dedicated counselor, working closely with children who have ADHD and related behavioral, emotional, and learning challenges. The program's main objective is to get them ready for kindergarten in the fall. My role involved implementing an 8-week behavior modification treatment program, which provided structured feedback and consequences for both positive and negative behaviors.As a vigilant observer, I was committed to fostering a supportive atmosphere by attentively monitoring interactions among children and offering neutral feedback when exhibited rule-breaking behavior and, positive feedback to address any positive behavior. I also strived to create a warm and welcoming environment where all children felt secure and appreciated.To cater to the unique needs of each child, individualized plans were developed for those who were not responding to the standard protocol. My primary focus was to ensure the safety and well-being of all children under my care while encouraging and reinforcing behaviors that adhered to school-acceptable guidelines. Show less

  Afterschool Treatment Program

  Lead Counselor

  At the Afterschool Treatment Program, I have the privilege of working with elementary children aged six to twelve who have been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or may exhibit ADHD. Over the course of an entire school year, I administer daily, intensive behavioral interventions tailored to each child's needs.My responsibilities include providing daily feedback to parents and guardians about their children's progress and behaviors. We can collaborate effectively and create the best possible support system for the children.As part of the program, I lead Skills Group which is designed to target specific skill deficits in children. By providing appropriate coaching and modeling proper behaviors, I help them develop essential life skills, such as emotional and coping skills, organizational skills, friendship-making skills, and test-taking skills Through encouragement and positive reinforcement, I strive to create an environment where the children can thrive and reach their full potential.
