      Uptitude was an innovative start-up that repurposed dismissed ski and snowboard for creating unique, sustainable eyewear. Furthermore, the company bypassed the usual distribution channels and directly handled commerce and post-sales assistance with customers.It represented my first real entrepreneurial adventure, where after four years, I collected a priceless combination of experiences and knowledge. Within the immense complexity of a newborn firm, where unexpected events are the rule more than the exception, my job revolved mainly around sales and business development, supply chain management, communication and media production, accounting and administration. Show less With a high self-motivation and a tremendous level of curiosity, in the year 2014, I decided to build a DIY CNC milling machine to re-use dismissed skis and snowboards, turning them into eyewear. With little to no experience in the machinery field, thanks to this experience, I improved my knowledge and confidence in rapid prototyping.My job revolved around both the hardware part and the software side, where I created a novel workflow that combined Grasshopper, Rhino and Rhino CAM to automatise both the design phase and the milling stage. Thanks to this procedure that combined parametric design and remote tool controls, we had the chance to increase the number of experiments by saving hours of CAD/CAM. Show less
