    • Sedgwick

      May 2010 - Jun 2012
      Private & SIU Investigator

Sedgwick Factual Photo is a company that works with, and for, insurance companies to prevent and investigate insurance fraud through surveillance as well as conducting Special Investigations (SIU). I was responsible for conducting interviews with claimants, as well as surveillance. Surveillance requires a great deal of patience and experience driving a vehicle in order to follow a claimant to monitor and record their day to day activities. This is important in uncovering fraudulent claims. SIU, or special investigations, required that I be able to conduct an interview with a claimant on issues regarding, but not limited to, car accidents, house fires, slip and fall accidents, and property damage as well as any other occasion where a claim may be made. This aspect of investigative work required me to be understanding, but also press important issues where necessary. It also required that I be social, and communicate well with others as well as the ability to discern fact from fiction based on verbal statements, body language, as well as facial expressions and verbiage. Another responsibility was to conduct Field Visits which consist of ascertaining the extent to which someone may, or may not, be disabled. These interviews generally are somewhat invasive and require the ability to remain objective, but also understanding, about what people are going through in their day to day living situations. These interviews also require the ability to direct conversation and gain pertinent details. Travel is a large aspect of the job and I was often required to drive hundreds of miles in a day, be on time, and manage my time wisely with minimal supervision and extensive, and detailed, reports and daily updates must be written and given orally to my supervisor each day worked. Accountability is very important due to the fact that most investigators must make split second decisions, with very limited supervision on the job, and report those decisions to a supervisor after the fact. • Blue Moon Investigations Security and Protection

      Jun 2012 - Jan 2015
      Operations Manager

As the Operations Manager for Blue Moon, I was responsible for the day to day operations of the company. I maintained client relations and solved issues that our clients had from service to the field work of the security officers. I was in charge of managing the Scheduling Department as well as the Human Resources Department and often answered the questions security officers had related to their duties. When necessary, I would go into the field and work security. The main job description of a security officer is to observe and report. This entails making sure people do not trespass on properties as well as keeping the peace at locations such as apartment complexes, industrial buildings, construction sites, sulfur plants, and ports etc. As the Human Resources manager, I was in charge of recruiting and hiring, reprimands, and terminations. I reviewed applications as well as chose employees I believed were best fit for particular positions. I would then do training for Security Officers as well as Private Investigators. As the Scheduler, I was in charge of approximately 100 security officer's schedules while maintaining the position of direct supervisor. I would fill shifts in the event of a call off as well as dispatch police to an emergency if necessary, give directives to be followed in certain situations, and maintain client relations. As a Security Sales person, I would sell security contracts to clients and prepare to begin security at properties by engaging in meet and greets. I would walk properties with owners and detail the direct needs of the customer. I would make recommendations as to the best approach for security at their properties and closed on many sales. After the sale was finalized, I would write a detailed set of Post Orders for the security officers so that it was clear of what their duties consisted. As Dispatch, I would advise officers of what was necessary and proper conduct in certain situations that come up in the line of working security. Show less

    • The Robison Group

      Apr 2014 - Aug 2014
      Private & SIU Investigator

At the Robison Group, I traveled each day to conduct surveillance on claimants related to insurance fraud. I was responsible for successfully following claimants and to covertly obtain video of activities and gain other pertinent information such as, but not limited to, license plate numbers, alternate addresses, and family addresses. I obtained a high percentage of video of claimants as well as provided the company with multiple forms of evidence. I maintained high quality skills in report writing and updates. I also worked Special Investigations (SIU) and received recognition from the SIU supervisor for timely, and exceptional, gathering of evidence, interviewing of insureds, and report writing. I was often first picked to conduct SIU field investigations due to the level of work produced. Show less

    • Texas Department of Family and Protective Services

      Oct 2014 - Mar 2016
      Conservator Specialist II

As a Conservatorship Specialist, responsibilities include working with families to insure that children are in a safe environment as well as identifying risk factors that may jeopardize a child's safety, and neutralizing that risk. The position requires significant detailed documentation of interviews, face to face monthly visits with children and parents, and any other pertinent information regarding a case. Preparing court documents is very common, and attention to detail is crucial. I was responsible for testifying in court as to how children are doing in foster/kinship placement, and whether clients are completing court ordered services. The worker remains in contact with attorneys, parents, foster parents, family members, as well as children and the court system, to advocate for the best interests of children. This job is performed with minimal supervision, and the caseworker is responsible for submitting all work in a timely fashion. There are many deadlines that must be met with very short notice, such as legal discoveries. The caseworker must also assess and evaluate proper services to offer clients on a case to case basis, and depending on why the case was referred to the conservatorship caseworker. A typical caseworker has a caseload of around 30 children. It is a very fast paced environment with a large amount of responsibility. Show less

      Operations Manager

As Operations Manager, I was in charge of the day to day operations of the company. I oversaw scheduling, sales, human resources, and monitor client relations. I was also responsible for performing investigations when a sale was finalized. When a sale in security is made, I would determine what type of person, security officer, would be the best for the job. I would then coordinate with the Human Resources Department to hire the proper security officer. I would then train our officer on the post. In the event I was unable to train an officer, I would train a supervisor who would then train the officer on post. When an investigation is finalized, I would select an appropriate private investigator for the case and assign them to it. I was then responsible for reviewing their day to day reports, pictures, and video and for making certain that the data retrieved was above industry standard before disseminating it to the client.
