Effective communication to front and back of house kitchen, delivery and management staff was essential. I was required to complete food preparations for dine-in and takeout orders for customers, as well as operate fryers, overs, grills and stove stops. Completed proper cleaning and sanitation of all restaurant equipment on a daily basis, while using proper safety equipment and precautions.       My second year in the TEDxGuelphU committee I was promoted to Head of Logistics. My main responsibility in this role was to ensure activities, food preparations, and timing of the conference on the day of were set up and running smoothly. I was required to decide on location and design of the event, contact and recruit companies that provided activities for the guests to complete between speakers sessions, contact a caterer for food preparations, and recruit a band for the conference all while sticking to a budget. I also managed the volunteers, audio/video crews, as well as the conference location, making sure the facility was opened early enough to set up and closed once the facility was cleaned. I also took on the task of stage design, creating a blueprint of the brain that followed our theme "From Theory to Reality". Show less My first year on the TEDxGuelphU committee allowed me to build on my creative skills. As stage designer, I was given free reign to build a set that reflected the theme of the conference "Building Bridges". I developed a plan that was signed off on by the Head of the committee, using the specific budget laid out for me in my role. I have provided a picture to show the work I completed.Other roles during my time as Stage Designer included helping with set up and take down of the conference, assisting other roles with minor tasks, as well as engaging guests during the day of the conference with activities.       During this role, I was afforded with providing a two week trip to Central America for pre-veterinary students at the University of Guelph. From initiation to completion of the trip, I was the planner and go-to person for campus-wise questions and resources. I provided recruitment and fundraising services for the students, as well as organizing the travel plans and activities during the trip. While on the trip, the whole team was responsible for set-up and take down of the mobile clinic sites. I assisted with animal exams, surgeries, and recoveries while working in pairs, allowing me to grow my own skills while also help teach other students. This position allowed me to provide a service to my immediate community as well as an international community, while experiencing the culture of a different country. Show less

I was also responsible for responding to customer complaints from takeout and dining room service, ensuring the customer were heard and a problems were fixed. Financially, I was responsible for opening and closing the store on scheduled shifts. Aided in transition from hard copies to digital copies of many files.

      I was hired in this position for having advanced knowledge of wildlife rehabilitation and to develop the Guelph Humane Society's Wildlife Program alongside the Animal Protection Officers. In this role I was expected to answer public inquiries and phone calls about injured, orphaned, and ill wildlife which would allow me to decipher whether or not the animal needed help or was actually behaving normally. Upon receiving a wild animal that was sick, orphaned or injured, I would be the first person to respond in the field for pick up or at the shelter if an animal was brought in. I would perform an initial examination and treat the animal with what was necessary, from pain medication to bandages. Once stable, I would coordinate transportation for the animal to a licensed rehabilitation center. Finally, completing paperwork, improving our network for wildlife resources, and creating a more efficient program were always on my to-do list. Show less
