      During a two-week Introduction to Research program on vocational education in Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu, a case study was conducted on the vocational training practices at Sholai CLOAAT, an alternative school. The study involved observing the vocational training practices at the school and conducting interviews with students, teachers, staff, and parents. The primary objective of the study was to gain a better understanding of the benefits of vocational education in elementary schools, while also learning research methodologies and report writing.       As part of an internship with the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) Design and Technology department, I collaborated on a project aimed at creating a comprehensive framework to mainstream design thinking in science education. The objective of the project was to provide educators with a practical guide to incorporate design thinking methodologies into their classrooms, with a primary focus on developing a framework tailored to the Indian context and emphasizing the application of design thinking principles for brainstorming and analyzing solutions.Through this project, I leveraged the expertise of the HBCSE Design and Technology department to develop and refine the framework, which empowers educators to foster creative problem-solving skills and nurture a culture of innovation among students. This work was motivated by a desire to bridge the gap between science education and practical problem-solving skills, and to provide educators with tools to inspire the next generation of innovators.Overall, this project provided me with a unique opportunity to apply my skills in research, analysis, and collaboration towards a meaningful objective, and to contribute to the advancement of science education in India.
