  • Commanded operational unit responsible for the employment of helicopter resources that provided security and logistical airlift support for 150 Minuteman III ICBMs deployed over an 8,500 square mile area.• Equipped and trained aircrews to fly with the newest generation of night vision goggles; changes significantly enhanced the unit’s nighttime capability to perform the security mission.

  Developed and implemented contingency plans and procedures for Space Shuttle launch, on-orbit, and landing support. Commanded 40-member rescue team as the DOD Manager’s deployed forces commander at transoceanic abort landing sites in Europe and Africa. Coordinated with host government personnel to ensure required support was available at the right time and place. Created the unit’s initial antiterrorism/security program to decrease NASA/DOD exposure to terrorist threats when operating on foreign territory. Show less

Led a complete flight, ground and weapons safety program for an organization manned by over 2,500 operators and support personnel flying and maintaining six different aircraft types. Led division to a first in six year “Excellent” rating for major higher headquarters inspection; AF Inspection Agency Eagle Look program named wing’s ORM program a “Best Practice.”
