Depending on the size and complexity of the installation, I may work in a team of operators or be responsible for a particular section or production unit.The main tasks of a DCS operator includes:- Monitoring and controlling petrochemical processes, using distributed control systems, to ensure safe and efficient production of petrochemical products.- Identifying and remedying process issues such as temperature, pressure, or flow fluctuations by adjusting control parameters in the DCS system.- Reporting incidents, failures, or malfunctions, as well as collaborating with colleagues and technical personnel to identify and implement remediation solutions.- Ensuring compliance with safety standards and work procedures to minimize the risk of incidents or accidents in the installation.- Participating in the training and continuous development process to stay up-to-date with new technologies and working practices in the petrochemical field.
