      Dispatch Supervisor

Started as a driver, driving in and around the Birmingham and Black Country, I then moved on to installing destination equipment into newly purchased vehicles. This then led into helping the engineering department with some work such as accident repairs, panel damage, re-torquing wheel nuts. I was then promoted to Despatch Supervisor, a role which encompassed many different roles including checking oil and coolant levels on vehicles prior to leaving depot, ensuring drivers arrive on time for duties and depart depot on time for commencement service, cashing up each day and preparing banking, LED destination installations on company vehicle and customers vehicles as well undertaking repairs at company and customers premises which could involve driving all over the country. I also undertook some minor vehicle repairs to company vehicles including mechanical repairs and repairing accident and panel damage. I worked closely with drivers, engineering, senior management and the managing director to help ensure the smooth running of the business. It is a role I enjoyed a great deal and helped to me to develop new and enhance existing skills in dealing with other employees on a management level and help develop myself as a person Show less

      Jul 2014 - now
National Express Driver Training Officer (D.T.O)

Started working at Travelstar in July 2014 as a National Express scheduled driver covering primarily routes to Gatwick Airport and Bradford. It is something I have enjoyed thoroughly. Mainly due to the more personal interaction with customers, something I enjoy a great deal. Having worked hard and having a flexible, friendly and approachable attitude I was promoted to National Express Driver Training Officer and after doing DTO training and gaining a Practical Training Certificate qualification it is a role I now perform as well as still continuing to cover driving duties. I hope to perform my DTO role with the enthusiasm I approach everything with and hope the drivers I am responsible for will benefit from my training style as well as over 15 years experience in the bus and coach industry. In January 2016 I gained the RoSPA Driver Assessor Gold accreditation to further enhance my driver training role, very shortly I shall be attaining JAUPT CPC accreditation to deliver CPC to our drivers.I gained IOSH managing safely qualification in may 2019. In December 2019 I became a dementia friends champion to help spread the word about dementia and break the stigma associated with it, it is a cause I feel extremely passionate about as it can affect anyone of us in many different ways Show less
