  This was my first clinical experience at an outpatient orthopedic private practice. I worked side by side with a certified therapist in order to advance my learning and clinical skills learned after my first year of education. Some activities performed at this clinical were: initial examinations, assigning and progressing interventions, use of modalities, documentation, in service on CRPS and some initial introductions to billing.

  I gained clinical experience for 12 weeks in the acute rehab setting found at St. Lukes. The caseload consisted of primarily neurological conditions including CVA, TBI, GBS, Parkinson's, SCI, etc. We also treated patients following cardiac procedures with sternal and cardiac precautions as a phase II rehabilitation. Additionally some other cases we dealt with were total joint replacements and amputations.

  The majority of the caseload consisted of subacute patients however some other patients were seen from the LTC setting and also as outpatient based services. The patient diagnoses consisted of neurological, cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, gastrointestinal, integument and cognitive in nature.
