      Responsible for the creation and maintenance of WSPS' (an approved program provider) offering of the WSIB Health and Safety Excellence program. Working in collaboration with multiple departments and roles across the organization, this work includes building of documentation for participants, learning sessions (both in person and virtually), ongoing training and upskilling of staff, evaluation and continual improvement of the program, and ongoing liaising with participants, WSIB, trade associations, and other stakeholders.Project management, in depth understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OHSMS), and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate are all keys factors to ensuring the success of WSPS' offering of the Health and Safety Excellence program. Show less Accountability for continuous improvement of the internal Occupational Health and Safety System (OHSMS), ensuring that staff at WSPS are able to work in a safe and healthy environment. This is done through effective implement of the OHSMS, with ongoing assessment, evaluation, and modification to reduce risk to staff, addressing not only the physical safety of staff, but their psychological safety as well. Communication at all levels of the organization is critical to the success of our OHSMS, with continual analysis of trends within the OHSMS and recommendations to senior leadership (including the Board of Directors) on areas for improvement. Specific tasks that directly influence the success of the OHSMS include hazard and risk identification and assessment, training and communication, incident response and investigation (including claims management), and work with the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC). All these activities combined help to ensure that the Internal Responsibility System (IRS) functions as effectively as possible.
