  Foundations of Cybersecurity is a year-long course teaching advanced problem-solving skills necessary to identify and resolve potential Cyber security threats. Completion of this course prepares students for successful job placement in the ever-expanding IT landscape. Students will learn marketable skills through computer simulations, hands-on labs, and Analysis and Investigation of Cyber Scenarios (AICS). This course gives students a broad exposure to the many aspects of digital and information security, while encouraging socially responsible choices and ethical behavior. It inspires algorithmic thinking, computational thinking, and especially, “outside-the-box” thinking. Students explore the many educational and career paths available to cybersecurity experts, as well as other careers that comprise the field of information security.Students will be prepared for industry-recognized certifications, such as CompTIA’s A+/Network+/Security+/CySA+, CEH, CHFI, etc. Students are encouraged to obtain IT industry certifications to increase their career outlook. During class time, we will be taking at least THREE Microsoft Technology Associate exams AND the at least THREE TestOut Pro exams.
