The Roadrunners submitted a billboard featuring men's basketball player Mitch McCarron for the award earlier this spring.The billboard, designed by Scott Lary, Evan Tynan, John Kietzmann and Andy Schlichting, was used during the first couple months of the basketball season, beginning in late November. It was located near the current softball field at The Regency Athletic Complex off Colfax Avenue in downtown Denver. The photo, taken by Trevor Davis, has McCarron posed in a horizontal stance to fit the horizontal nature of the billboard with a basketball in one hand. "We Play Our Tailfeathers Off" was used as a slogan throughout the marketing campaign and helped average attendance figures nearly double from before the advertisement went up. Show less
